Everything you need to know about the Istanbul Half Marathon

The Istanbul Half-Marathon is one of the best half marathons in the world. As a result, competition to get one of the more than 2,500 spots available in the race is always fierce. Everyone wants to run the Istanbul Half Marathon. The event is an annual road running event over the half marathon distance 21 km (13,05 miles) that takes place in March on the streets of Istanbul.

About 2,500 athletes are expected to compete in the race, which is organized by N Kolay and Spor Istanbul Inc., an affiliate company of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

The Istanbul Half-Marathon 2022

N Kolay Istanbul Semi-Marathon will run the 10K race and the 21K race in 2022. This private track, which has no altitude difference and a unique view, allows athletes to develop their own degrees.

Athletes will compete according to the criterias listed in the “Coronavirus Event-Planning Guide,” published by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The route of The Istanbul Half-Marathon

The semi-marathon course starting from Yenikapı continues from Kumkapı, Sarayburnu, Sirkeci direction and continues towards Eminönü, Unkapanı, Fener, Balat, Ayvansaray and Feshane direction, and returns to the opposite direction from Eyüp intersection and ends at the starting point of Yenikapı.

A unique experience awaits you along the race course in the Historic Peninsula, which has hosted the world’s oldest civilizations for thousands of years! The annual road running event has an International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Gold Label status. It was first organized in 1987.
