Rematch Launches Without Cross-Play: Feature Coming in Future Update
In two days, the football game Rematch will be released – but unfortunately not with complete content. Players will have to do without the cross-play feature at launch and can only play with players from their own platform.
Only two days left before the new football title Rematch is launched. On June 19, 2025, the game will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Unfortunately, the game will probably not be delivered in its entirety, because an important feature is missing. Although the feature is to be added through an update, this should still be little consolation for players.
No cross-play at the beginning
The cross-play feature ensures that you can play together with players from other platforms, such as an Xbox user with a PlayStation owner. Without cross-play, on the other hand, you have to limit yourself to your own platform for the time being. Exactly this function will not be available at the launch of Rematch, the creators have officially confirmed this via X.
If you decide to play the Xbox version, you can at least only play with Xbox players at first. Since Rematch is a PvP game, this should really annoy one or the other player.
