The best robot vacuum cleaner 2024
Every week you have to clean everything again, vacuum everything again, brush everything again, which becomes tiring work. Perhaps you have already heard of this device. It is a device that goes around the whole house, sweeps the floors, avoids obstacles to avoid falling down the stairs and cleans the carpets. Too good to be true.
It basically works like this: The robot charges its battery on a platform connected to the electrical outlet and starts cleaning the house when you want it or at a pre-programmed time. At this point, he leaves the platform alone and wanders around the house vacuuming all the dirt. There are sensors on the side of the robot vacuum that allow it to detect obstacles and manage to avoid them. So when the robot encounters a wall, the edge of a table or a chair, it realizes that it needs to turn and circles around it to stay there forever.
From a while ago, various robot vacuum cleaner models and different brands have been released for home cleaning. The first thing to clarify is that none of this is cheap. Therefore, prepare the money if you are already determined to have it. But before we worry about prices and models, let’s decide on the brand. With a little searching, you can find robot vacuum cleaners from LG, Samsung, Xiaomi, Targus, iRobot and other completely unknown Chinese manufacturers.
iRobot Roomba E5
iRobot has over 30 years of experience in robotics and innovation, with more than 30 million home robots sold worldwide. We can already place this Roomba among the high-end robot vacuums, and the truth is, its functions are much more comprehensive than previous models. iRobot designed this Roomba for home pet owners as it has a high-power suction system and at least two multi-surface rubber rollers with a high-efficiency filter. This means that the E5 can capture not only dirt, but also allergens released by our furry friends. It also has Dirt Detection sensors to detect particularly dirty areas, irregularity detection, and an active navigation system to clean most efficiently with the Virtual Wall which basically prevents the robot from entering rooms we don’t want. Ideal for cleaning at home with pets, eliminating allergens. It has smart navigation support with smart phone management and dual Virtual Walls. Comes with rubber brushes and washable bowl.
iRobot Roomba 692
This model of the 600 series won’t be the latest model as the 698 already exists, but it will probably be the best-selling Roomba due to its affordability and massive sales volume. It makes sense, because it’s a robot with a very up-to-date system and also includes a dirt sensor (ultrasonic) to keep things clean and at the same time gain efficiency.
It also includes smartphone management, Wi-Fi connectivity and voice assistant support via its app. In this way, we can program it to automatically clean or control it remotely. The navigation system is based on infrared and ultrasound, and in this sense we can consider it fundamental, because the new models include laser navigation.
Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Mop Pro
Xiaomi also has its own cleaning robot, and its latest version, the Vacuum Pro, improves on the previous generation in every way. It won’t be as advanced as a robot when it comes to navigation and cleaning programs, but as a whole it makes a good team for a low price. It has a good use time of 120 minutes and a charge of about 5 hours, of course with a charge and go function.
The LDS navigation system has the ability to create maps of the area so that we can interact with them from the App. In this way, it is possible to select areas or rooms for deep cleaning, thanks to the function of scrubbing with water with a V-shaped brush and a small tank. Although the suction power is not very high with 2,100 Pa, it will be an advantage in the face of the low noise it produces.
LG VR65710LVMP Hombot Turbo
With the ability to add a 10-year warranty to the motor, this LG model will be a quality/priced robot vacuum. It will be optimized for corner cleaning with its two brushes and square design to reach everywhere. It’s also one of the quietest robots available, so it will come in handy for apartments with pets or babies.
The smart navigation system is equipped with a Dual Eye dual camera that can memorize the status of obstacles and draw a surface map thanks to infrared sensors. It has a good 600ml reservoir and although it is a mop it lacks scrubbing capacity.
iRobot Roomba 980 ve 981
We come to the second highest performance model of the American brand, the Roomba 980. We must not forget that the cost depends not only on the accessories it brings with it, but also on the optimization. Until the advent of the i7, this Roomba was the smartest, with a camera-based navigation system, plus lots of optical, ultrasonic and laser sensors.
Thanks to the main navigation being based on the camera, we can gather more information, as well as customize the cleaning system to our liking, the number of passes or the suction power. It progresses much more regularly than other models and gives us information on coverage maps.
iRobot Roomba i7+
As if the 980s specs weren’t enough, iRobot has released a new (and expensive) self-cleaning model. A new charging and washing base connects to Roomba’s tank to absorb whatever you collect as you wander around the house. It is exactly as efficient as the 980 in terms of rollers, filters and cleaning.
Another great innovation of this best-in-class model is that it has iAdapt 3.0 smart navigation, and thanks to its camera and multiple sensors, it can automatically create a map of our house and learn in the most efficient way. So he can tell you what, when and how we want you to do it.
Roborock S6 Pure
The Roborock S6 Pure is one of the manufacturer’s most advanced robot vacuum cleaners, second only to the S7 and S6 MaxV in terms of power. It has sweeping, vacuuming and mop scrubbing functions with a good water tank with manual dispenser, which at least gives acceptable results for our home maintenance. The suction power will be 2,000 Pa, maybe not very strong, but it will allow you to reach 180 minutes of use.
The smart laser navigation system will be one of the best features of this Roborock series and has proven to be an extremely fast and agile piece of equipment in our analysis. We had no issues getting lost or stuck, and the laser sensor renders fairly accurate maps, even in pitch dark. From the app we can edit them and create rooms and personalized cleaning areas.
Ecovacs Deebot OZMO 950
Ecovacs has revamped its entire line of robot vacuums and the 950 will be one of the best options you’ll ever have and definitely more than worth the investment. It has three levels of suction power and a new OZMO brushing function that simultaneously aspirates to do everything in one pass.
It uses Smart Navi 3 technology, which uses laser sensors as a navigation system that can map and record the entire area it travels. It has the ability to create up to two interactive maps, so it will come in handy for two-story homes. Its 5200 mAh battery can last up to 200 minutes and we can control the device completely freely from the mobile app and Wi-Fi connection.
Ecovacs Deebot OZMO T8
We believe the T8 model will be the smartest or most balanced option in terms of quality and price. In terms of intelligence, it won’t lag behind as it uses an AI laser navigation system via a DToF sensor that detects and recognizes all kinds of objects. In fact, it even includes a built-in video camera with which we can view what is going on in our house on mobile.
Via the map creation function, we will be able to interact with them from the application, set up rooms, create barriers or personalized routes. As for the cleaning functions, it has an OZMO scrubbing and suction system with sufficient suction power and an even better battery, as it can last for 3 hours in eco mode and 180 minutes in OZMO mode. It can detect the surface type, such as carpet, to automatically adapt the cleaning mode.
Roborock S6 MaxV
Because the S6 MaxV is very similar to the S7 and slightly lower in price, we think it will be the best choice for those who want more suction power and cleaning efficiency. Its improved engine reaches 2500 Pa and also produces slightly less noise than the regular S6 with the same options in terms of cleanliness.
Likewise, we will have a laser navigation system with LiDAR multi-level mapping that is just as agile and fast. Thanks to them and their versions, we will be able to customize the cleaning in each room. The system detects and avoids objects to avoid jams and entanglement.
Ecovacs OZMO Slim10
If what we’re looking for is a robot that can get under any furniture, this OZMO Slim version should be yours. It stands just 57mm high and 310mm in diameter, offering plenty of maneuverability for small spaces. It has a slightly simpler navigation system and a slower learning curve than previous models, but can detect obstacles and irregularities.
It has the usual 4 cleaning modes such as full cleaning, spot mode, edges and of course the OZMO brushing system that vacuums at the same time. In this case, we have management by Application, but it cannot create map. Its smaller thickness has an automatic charging mode to keep cleaning, reducing battery time to around 100 minutes. Like the rest of the Ecovacs, it’s compatible with Google Home and Amazon Echo, as well as voice control.
Cecotec Conga 1290
For a little more money we have already found something much more interesting at Cecotec and this is the Conga 1290, which comes with some improvements compared to its predecessors. The first thing we highlight is the iTech Gyro navigation system, which in this case can memorize the path of the robot and then optimize it on the next pass it makes. It also allows a total of 7 automatic cleaning programs.
There’s no doubt that it’s also a 4-in-1 with three levels of vacuuming and scrubbing power, similar to the 990. Cecotec has come up with a very original way to limit the areas to be cleaned and it is a physical magnetic strip placed on the floor. It is a valid solution, but not very efficient compared to models that can do this via software.
Cecotec Conga 3790
We continue the list with this new robot vacuum cleaner from the Spanish manufacturer, which will offer us the iTech Laser 360 navigation and mapping system at an excellent price. From its application we will be able to visualize the map created by its environment. The system supports up to 5 maps that we will interact with to create walls or rooms for selective cleaning.
Its 4-in-1 function allows us to sweep, vacuum, mop and scrub in a mixed tank for water and solids. It has up to 50 cleaning schemes and three scrubbing modes with flow meters and thanks to the 2300 Pa motor we will have a good suction capacity. One of the manufacturer’s most complete robots, it also comes with 2 mops, 2 side brushes and 2 filters.
Cecotec Conga 4690 Ultra
The main standard bearer of the Cecotec 4000 series is the Conga 4690 Ultra, a robot vacuum cleaner that has 10 cleaning modes of other next-generation models but increases the suction power to 2700 Pa. It scrubs the floor simultaneously with 3 suction power modes and 3 scrubbing modes. It includes the main brush, silicone and multifunctional and other spare parts from Jalisco.
This version has a 360o laser navigation system and can create maps of operating areas with sufficient precision so we can create rooms, cleaning areas or virtual walls. For better cleaning of the surface, back and forth motion (scrubbing) for the mop is added as an extra function. Another of its improvements will be an increase in battery capacity of 6400 mAh and a usage time of 300 minutes.
Cecotec Conga 6090 Ultra
Thanks to the cyclonic technology used in vacuum cleaners, we are taking another step into the Cecotec Conga 6000 series to find a vacuum cleaner with a suction power of at least 10,000 Pa. With 4 simultaneous cleaning methods, 10 modes and 50 combinations, it will be one of the most powerful on the market and very useful for carpets. In this case, we have a mixed tank of 270 ml for water and 335 ml for solids and a battery time of 240 minutes.
Like its predecessors, it has an iTech Laser 360 navigation system that can map the entire area and intelligently create plans up to 5 floors. It doesn’t look much different from its younger siblings in this department, and it doesn’t seem to have object detection either. Then we see that the main improvements will be in the cleaning and lifespan part.
Cecotec Conga 7090 IA
Improvements are made to the navigation system in the 7000 series. In this case, a sensor system and dual optical cameras are added to the 360o laser navigation to detect all kinds of objects. This is combined with an AI system to autonomously decide what to do in any situation, for example in front of a pet or a chair. The system is called 3Diana, with which we can communicate from the App.
Regarding cleaning functions, it will basically have the same 10,000 Pa power as the sub-series, along with 4 simultaneous functions. The innovation is the implementation of the RoomPlan 3.0 system, where we will have 100 cleaning plans. It is Cecotec’s most advanced robot and also comes at a very reasonable price for what it offers.
Ilife A4s
We will see some models of the Ilife brand. The A series specializes in sweeping and vacuuming with higher suction power, ideal for carpets as in this case. It is one of the cheapest robots we could find, with 5 cleaning programs with room mode to clean specific areas more deeply.
Among other capabilities, we have the possibility of programming it to perform automatic cleaning, although it is not managed by the Smartphone and in its case it does not have a fairly complete remote control. The navigation system does not allow us to make certain configurations such as virtual wall or artificial intelligence. In any case, it is one of the most attractive solutions on the market for its price.
