What’s new with watchOS 9.3

We already have watchOS 9.3 available, the second major update of the Apple Watch is now available with many new features.

Along with iOS 16.3, Apple has also released other software updates, including watchOS 9.3, the new version of Apple Watch that you can now install on your Apple Watch. An update with many interesting new features, which also fixes many security bugs.

The new version of watchOS 9.3 offers new Training functionality and other improvements implemented in the popular accident detection. On the other hand, the updated software version for Apple Watch includes bug fixes and stability improvements.

In addition, Apple has added a new Black History Month tribute face that was recently announced alongside custom Apple Watch bands.

To download watchOS 9.3 on your Apple Watch, go to the Watch app on your iPhone or from Settings > General > Software Update. To install this version, your Apple Watch will need at least 50% battery or be plugged in.

Compatible devices and how to install watchOS 9.3

We already have watchOS 9.3 available to download on our Apple Watch, a version that is compatible with the same devices as watchOS 9, which are the following:

  • Apple Watch Series 4
  • Apple Watch Series 5
  • Apple Watch SE
  • Apple Watch Series 6
  • Apple Watch Series 7
  • Apple Watch Series 8
  • Apple Watch Ultra

The installation of this new version is identical to that of other updates, you must have the Apple Watch connected to the charger and with a 50% battery. To install watchOS 9.3 on your Apple Watch you must follow these steps:

  1. Enter the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on the General section.
  3. Now go to Software Update.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the update to appear and tap Download now.
  5. Apple Watch must be connected to the charger to install the update.

The “Time Trial Route” function allows you to compete against your personal best in running, cycling and wheelchair training. The new custom kickboxing algorithm in the Training app provides more accurate data tracking. The Noise app now shows the reduction in ambient sound levels with AirPods Pro (1st generation) and AirPods Max when using active noise cancellation.

Added an accessibility option that allows you to see when the siren is being used on Apple Watch Ultra. Improved response time and accuracy of hand gesture controls for AssistiveTouch and quick actions. Accident detection has been optimized for Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch SE (2nd generation).
