Xbox and AMD Confirm Full Backward Compatibility for Next-Gen Consoles

Just a few days ago, Xbox confirmed that it is working with AMD to create the next generation of consoles, something that has surprised all users, especially considering the possibility that it will come with an integration of Steam and other gaming platforms. However, now it has been AMD itself that has wanted to confirm one of the most important details of the new generation of Xbox: backward compatibility, which will be available on all the brand’s devices.

This time it has been Lisa Su, the head of AMD, who has made it clear that the top priority right now is to offer all players the option of backward compatibility on any Xbox device and of course, on all their games. It doesn’t matter if it’s on console, on PC or on the new Xbox Ally, the portable console that the Redmond company is developing together with ASUS. This feature is one of the most loved by gamers and of course, it’s great news to see that it’s back.

Of course, this option will bring great joy to users who have been on the platform for more years and who have a really wide catalog. However, there are still doubts about what will happen to older games, something that will be resolved over time. Currently, you can enjoy Xbox One games, Xbox 360 and also titles from the original console, so you probably don’t have to worry about absolutely anything.

The new Xbox handheld console may have revealed its prices

It was already known that this product was going to have a high price, however, some have been surprised with the figure that has been leaked about its cost and with the launch window. As you well know, there are two versions of ASUS ROG Xbox Ally, the normal one and a more powerful one that will obviously be more expensive. It is speculated that prices will be 599 for the regular version and 899 for the Xbox Ally X. In addition, there is also talk that its launch could take place in October, although unfortunately, this is not yet official information.

We’ll see what it all ends up with, but of course, it seems that Xbox wants to make a big splash with its new devices. A home console with the Steam, Epic or GOG store integrated would be a real madness that could get a lot of new users. It would be really easy to play all the games on the market without having to worry about PC configurations in case you are not used to using them.
