Desynced review

Desynced, which appears in the RTS automation and strategy genre, was released on Steam Early Access last month. Stage Games Inc. We’re taking an extended first look at the game developed by Forklift Interactive.

If you are looking for a new colony building game, Desynced is a game where you can build the colony of your dreams. To advance your colony in an unknown and strange world, you need to maximize efficiency, discover new materials and begin mass production. Of course, you need to spend hours to achieve all this.

Desynced review

Desynced places you on a randomly generated planet and ELAIN, an AI to assist you from your mothership. The long-term goal of this game is to repair your mothership and escape the planet. This is done by establishing mining facilities and conducting research on various materials found on the planet.

One of the best parts of Desynced is the incredible depth of gameplay. There are various resources available in the open world, and you can turn each of them into high-level materials. You can also combine various raw materials to create even more products.

What sets Desynced apart from other strategy games is that your main focus is on automating everything. If you have everything set up correctly, you can sit back and relax as the drones will do most of your work. However, sometimes things do not go as planned and even the slightest mistake can disrupt the entire process.

Desynced also has multiplayer support, so you can do both Co-op and PvP. If you find Desynced difficult to play single player, you can make things easier by playing co-op.

Desynced gameplay

In the game, you are first asked to establish a colony starting from scratch. You start mining Metal Ore and Crystals with the use of worker drones. With these you will be able to create some basic production buildings that turn these materials into more complex resources.

As you start collecting materials you will unlock the ability to research more items. This unlocks more unique ingredients and allows existing ingredients to be transformed into a variety of new recipes. Your goal is to make sure you have a steady supply of each ingredient. This allows you to consistently produce high-level resources. You can then research and unlock more recipes using these high-level resources. These will make your production more efficient.

The world is filled with a variety of puzzles to complete, and each is rewarded with a variety of rare materials upon completion. These puzzles are a great way to pass the time while waiting for resources to be produced. However, some puzzles may seem complex and feel like too much of a hassle to complete.

Bots will be both your main operating units and combat units in Desynced. There are worker bots, miner bots, and some custom bots where you can add specific components you like. Once you create your bot, you can instantly assign them to your logistics network so they can automatically deliver supplies to specific buildings. You can also control them manually if you want to send them exploring or equip them with turrets to fight bugs scattered around the map.

Desynced sound and graphics

Desynced offers a relaxing atmosphere with its unique automation system. You work hard to automate everything and sit back and watch the production process while you explore the endless map.

In terms of graphics, the game manages to create a high-quality and relaxing atmosphere. It’s easy to appreciate the detail in the boat and building models, as well as the fluidity of the day and night cycle. In terms of performance, my FPS remained stable throughout every gaming session when playing at the highest settings.

Lastly, the music is spot on and sets the mood appropriately. The melodies are relaxed and mellow; This lends itself perfectly to monitoring drones moving around and transferring resources.
