Planet Zoo review

With Frontier Developments’ zoo management simulation, you can build an impressive park and manage cute virtual animals. With Planet Zoo, you can get creative and build an amazing zoo and fill it with wild and friendly animals.

Planet Zoo review

Planet Zoo allows you to buy, sell and release animals into the wild and create the zoo of your dreams in one of the most powerful and detailed simulations ever made. Addressing issues surrounding wildlife endangerment and environmental education, this game is truly a magnificent achievement and does an excellent job of bringing the animals and management experience to life.

Planet Zoo follows a similar formula as other management simulations; But rather than running a business where you only have to meet guests’ demands and maintain employee morale, there is the extremely important added factor of animal welfare.

Planet Zoo is basically a building game, there is so much to do, so much ‘abundance’. There is a huge menu to choose from. From building custom-made houses to add decorative value to your zoo, to beautifying your zoo with natural supplements such as greenery and foliage.

Planet Zoo gameplay

There are four main modes in the game: Career, Franchise, Challenge and Sandbox.

In Career mode you start the game as a zoo director. Career Mode initially teaches you the ropes through three training levels. In-game bosses guide you through the basics of zoo management. Once the training is completed, you will find yourself building a zoo from scratch.

Regardless of whether you play the tutorials or not, the vast majority of your first few days in Planet Zoo will be spent just figuring things out, and frankly, you’ll be completely confused most of the time.

Franchise mode is an online mode that allows you to open and run brand new zoos around the world, emphasizing animal breeding and trading with other players.

Planet Zoo 2

Challenge mode is similar to Franchise except it offers different objectives offline. Sandbox mode allows you to create to your heart’s content without money or guest happiness being a problem.

Planet Zoo has so many different components to consider, and so much attention is needed in so many areas, that everything has to be set up very carefully for the park to function well.

In terms of construction, Planet Zoo is the ultimate in construction possibilities. If you can think of it, you can pretty much build it as long as you have the patience. For talented builders and creative geniuses, Planet Zoo offers an endless world of resources and options, and for that it deserves great praise.

Barriers are the outer layers of your habitat that surround the animals’ habitat. Having a large area, the game allows you to create them in various shapes and forms. You can choose what material a barrier should be made of, whether a metal fence will be enough for a Bengal tiger, or whether you need something more sturdy and resistant to brute force.

The staff has a certain energy and happiness. If they are well paid, they are happy, energetic and can work longer if they are well rested. Some workers, such as veterinarians and mechanics, can conduct research to unlock additional items.

Planet Zoo graphics and sound

The sound and graphics help make Planet Zoo truly captivating. Although people look like cartoons, the developers pay great attention to the animals, trying to make them as realistic as possible. The animals look great in the game, and the game offers some nice camera options that let you see their gorgeously rendered fur up close.

An easy-to-use user interface allows you to customize everything the way you want. An advanced move and rotate option grants the player extraordinary powers, confirming the developers’ interest in creativity.

Different species have different, lifelike animations when interacting with the environment. They even gave them a genetic make-up to encourage reproduction.

The sound is a commendable example of composition that radiates fun vibes and fills you with hope. The wonderful music that plays between loading sequences will immediately attract your attention and energize you, while the relaxing in-game melody will provide you with a calm atmosphere to concentrate.
